Feeding

Cockatoos should be fed a varied diet, consisting of fruits ,vegatables,seeds, nuts,whole wheat bread, and one of their favorites, Italian Breadsticks. A good pelleted mix is required also. Due to different requirements for different Cockatoos, I will not go into depth on what ratios are to be fed, but lean toward more fruits and vegatables and pellets as seeds contain a lot of fat which is not good for the Cockatoo. The most favorite of my flock is Cooked Sweet Potato and Corn on the cob. I also make a "Mash" in the food processer consisting of all the fruits and vegatables that they would not eat alone. I then spoon the mash onto whole wheat bread, give it to them, and they like it so much, they lick the bowls!
